Fluorine-lined valve lining materials and applications

1. Perfluoroethylene (FEP) (F46) Applicable media: Any organic solvent or reagent, dilute or concentrated inorganic acids, alkalis, ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, etc. Operating temperature: -85°C to 150°C. Features: Mechanical, electrical, and chemical stability are essentially the same as F4, but with outstanding advantages in high dynamic toughness, excellent weather resistance, and radiation resistance.
2. Polypropylene (RPP) Applicable media: Aqueous solutions of inorganic salts, dilute or concentrated solutions of inorganic acids and alkalis. Operating temperature: -14°C to 80°C. Features: One of the lightest plastics, its yield, tensile, and compressive strengths, and hardness are superior to those of low-pressure polyethylene. It has outstanding rigidity, good heat resistance, easy molding, and low cost. Modified materials offer improved dynamic resistance, flowability, and flexural elasticity.
3. Rigid (PVC) Applicable media: Resistant to water, concentrated alkalis, non-oxidizing acids, chain hydrocarbons, oils, and ozone. Operating Temperature: 0-55°C. Features: High mechanical strength, excellent chemical stability and dielectric properties, good oil resistance and aging resistance, easy welding and bonding, and low price.
4. Polytetrachloroethylene (PTFE) (F4) Suitable for: Strong acids, strong bases, strong oxidizers, etc. Operating Temperature: -200°C to 180°C. Features: Excellent chemical stability, high heat and cold resistance, very low coefficient of friction, and an excellent self-lubricating material. However, it has relatively low mechanical properties, poor fluidity, and high thermal expansion.
5. Polyvinylidene chloride (PVDF) (F2) Suitable for: Resistant to most chemicals and solvents. Operating Temperature: -70°C to 100°C. Features: Better tensile and compressive strength than F4, resistant to bending, weathering, radiation, light, and aging. Its greatest feature is its toughness and ease of forming.
6. Polyolefin (PO) Suitable for: Acids, bases, salts, and certain organic solvents of various concentrations. Operating Temperature: -58°C to 80°C. Features: Currently the world's most ideal anti-corrosion material, it is widely used for lining large rotationally molded equipment and pipeline components.
7. Polytrifluoroethylene (PCTEF) (F3). Applicable Media: Various organic solvents, inorganic corrosive fluids (oxidizing acids). Operating Temperature: -195°C to 120°C. Features: Its heat resistance, electrical properties, and chemical stability are second only to F4, while its mechanical strength, creep resistance, and hardness are slightly better than F4.
